The sun is shining. I am on my second cup of coffee. My toddler niece has said "Mine" a thousand times while I tried to read the newspaper and she tried to rip it from my hands... Yes, a new "Spring" is here. Hi, Spring! Welcome! And, with spring comes the inevitable "Prepare the Yard For Summer!" Winter was rather cruel to the yard. In fact, it was horrible to the yard. There is garbage and there are weeds and there are things that need pruning. There are birthday toys to put together. There are... There are... Did you see the garage? Neither have I! I have to find it. It is in there somewhere. Yes, so garage finding is just another thing to add to the Spring list of to dos. That entails putting away the Christmas shit because I couldn't. The summer shit was in the way. It means pumping up air into bike tires. It means cleaning the floor because I broke a huge ass bottle of beer there around my birthday because I wasn't watching what I was doing. Beer everywhere! And, the floor is sticky... Reminds me, I have to restock the beer fridge. It's running low. Ummmmmmmmmmm...... Yeah, spring. Everybody seems to be happy about it. I am not. It means more work in addition to my other responsiblities. Well, maybe I am a little happy. With my apparent SAD, the sun helps. AND, well... Yeah... Spring. I saw a bunny last night. I heard a cat meow. I saw a full moon. I ... I had BBQ last night! WOO HOO! But, that isn't really spring related. But BBQs in the backyard is! And, we might get a new grill because my nephew killed the last one by running his bike into it! Don't ask. I am still confused about that one myself. So, today, while I watch the baby niece during my sister's conference call, I think I shall take her outside and teach her how to use her new toys. That means frustration, crying, more frustration, crying...anger...hate ... and I am sure my niece will feel the same.... Anyway, Happy Spring, Folks!
P.S.: Hey, the garage was right there the entire time! I found it amongst the Christmas stuff, broken beer bottles, spring furniture, garbage cans, and bikes! Heh! Who knew? Anyway, I took some time today to open the deck up for the season. I have to water seal the surface (a couple hour job), but other then that that damn thing is usable. The fire pit is in place. We just need a bit more wood. But, it's good to get this thing a rolling. I was getting tired of sitting on the stoop. It made me feel creepy. Now, I can have the privacy of the backyard to chill and watch the world go round and round. I think I deserve a beer.

Ahhh... It was nice. Em and I spent more time exploring the world then playing with toys. We walked over rocks. She found that fascinating. She helped me pull some weeds. Well, actually she was throwing and eating dirt while I attempted to pull weeds. Em showed me birds and flowers and bushes while I told her they were birds, flowers, and bushes. We did a little time on her big wheel. AND, we played basketball with a baseball, which ended in a game of "catch." I say it was a productive time with Em in the Spring... Have a good day, folks.
